Opinion of the Disability Group

A disability group assessment is an official document prepared by specialists from relevant medical institutions to evaluate an individual’s health condition and determine the appropriate disability group. This assessment is essential for individuals to access necessary social, medical, and legal support measures designed for people with disabilities.

Disability Group Determination Process:

  1. Medical Evaluation:
The process begins with a thorough medical evaluation conducted by specialists such as physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, or other medical professionals, depending on the patient’s condition. This evaluation considers medical records, health history, physical and mental limitations, and daily functioning abilities.

  2. Psychological Assessment:
If the disability application involves mental or cognitive issues, the evaluation by a clinical psychologist or psychiatrist plays a crucial role. This assessment analyzes the individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects and their impact on daily life and work capacity.

  3. Determination of Disability Group:
Based on the evaluation results, a committee or group of specialists assigns a disability group, classified into three levels:

    • First Group: Severe disability where the individual is entirely dependent on others for care and unable to sustain themselves.
    • Second Group: Moderate disability where the individual can partially manage self-care and work tasks but requires significant assistance.
    • Third Group: Mild disability where the individual can work and care for themselves but has specific limitations requiring special conditions or support.
  4. Conclusion and Assessment Report:
After the evaluation and determination of the disability group, an official conclusion or assessment report is prepared and provided to the individual. This report is necessary for applying for social benefits, medical services, or other support programs designed for people with disabilities.

The disability group assessment is a vital document ensuring individuals receive the support and assistance they need based on their health status and quality-of-life requirements. It is a critical step for individuals with limited abilities to fully participate in daily life or the workforce, providing them with appropriate resources and protection.
