Rudolfs Skaidrais (1882-1954) was an outstanding 20th century Latvian doctor, active public and cultural worker. This wise, gifted and purposeful person recorded his works in the history of Rauna and still lives in the memories and stories of the local people.
On July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Cēsu Street 8, Rauna, we will gather together in a special event to honor Rudolf Skaidro and popularize his contribution to the development of health care and local cultural life in Rauna Parish. The event will take place in a special place at the foot of the Tanīsa hill – in the Doctor’s residential house – where the doctor spent his entire life.
We invite to the event representatives of Rūdolfs Skairdās family, residents of Rauna parish and Smiltene district, winners of the Rūdolfs Skairdās prize, Latvian doctors and other interested parties. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the life and achievements of Rudolf Skaidras, enjoy a musical greeting performed by Rauna’s mixed choir, see the exhibition “ME EUM ESSE” dedicated to the memory of Rudolf Skaidras, as well as simply hang out and share memories of Rudolf Skaidras and the Rauna hospital.
The event is organized by the Zālīši family, the owners and custodians of the doctor’s memory of Rūdolf Skaidrā’s house at Cēsu Street 8, Rauna, in cooperation with Rauna Parish cultural institutions and community representatives.
